The Year 5 students had the opportunity to learn about our catchments, the effect of nutrients and algae on our complex river and wetland ecosystems. Students learnt how plants and animals interact with each other in the system. They discovered how reliant plants and animals are on each other when an algal bloom occurs and just how fragile an ecosystem can be.
