This year, we celebrated Harmony Day on Wednesday the 21st of March. It was a day filled with celebrating the wonderful culture and diversity of our school. The students put in a great effort with their cultural dress which made for a spectacular morning parade and colourful classroom.
In the afternoon, we had our first buddy class activity of the year. We welcomed Mrs. Sinclair and the students of Room 15 into our class and the students worked together to outline their hands and decorate them. Each student made two hands representing their cultural background and decorated them with flags, food and native animals. The students kept one hand and swapped the other with their buddy. The hands now form the leaves of our 'Harmony Tree' displays, one in our room and one in Room 15.
Overall, it was a fantastic day and the students enjoyed working together on their first buddy class activity. We look forward to future activities with Mrs. Sinclair and the students of Room 15.
