MISSING BOOKS

We are missing over 50 class books from our home readers and I am asking everyone to please search high and low around your home/car/anywhere to look for the school books. We love reading in Room 18 but it is also important to care for and return books so others can enjoy reading too. It would be fantastic to have all books returned to their box by the end of this term - that is 100 books in total. We only have 43 books in total from both boxes at the moment so we have quite a long way to go before both boxes are full.

Talking about books, there are a number of students who have outstanding loans at our library, so while you are all searching for the 'Orange and Green Books' from above, please also search for the library books. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this issue.

VOLUNTEERING

We have had a lot of discussions about 'Random acts of Kindness' and 'Giving Back' in Room 18, linked to our school motto: 'Give to Receive.' The children spend a lot of their free time volunteering in our school gardens and helping out in the canteen for 20 minutes after lunch on Wednesdays. They really enjoy working with Mrs Forrest to make the garlic bread for the school, and their help assists Mrs Forrest with the orders to come. Mrs Williams also does a lot of volunteer work at Wattle Grove so here is a photo of some of our incredible volunteers around our school this week. Thank you also to our volunteers who come in to read with the children: Holly's mum, Luke's mum and Jazib's mum have all provided amazing support to the children this year with their reading - thank you!
