NAIDOC INCURSION

Today we had the NAIDOC incursion to learn about how Aboriginal people of the past would discover water and how they would live a sustainable life, ensuring food and water for the future. We learnt about the different seasons and how information was passed along in a variety of ways including story, songs, art and dance. It has been a wonderful week learning about Aboriginal culture and Dreamtime stories. Everyone wrote a Dreamtime story in Big Write this week, and we would love to share these when they get published.

GARDENING PAYS OFF

Some children have been working extra hard around the garden and our school so, as a little reward, these children have been selected to pick some parsley and head to the canteen on a Wednesday afternoon. Here, they work with Mrs Forrest to chop up the parsley to make garlic butter for the garlic bread orders. Their favourite part comes when they get to sample 'the fruits of their labour.' It has been great to see the children work hard in the garden then get a little reward to cook up some of the produce. Keep up the great work, Rm 18 (and thank you to Mrs Forrest also.)
